PowerWash Simulator 2 is the newly surprise-announced sequel to the charmingly zen-like 2022 simulation game. A game whose concept practically writes itself in its title, PowerWash Simulator became a massive hit for developer FuturLab thanks to its simplistic, relaxing gameplay and surprisingly detailed lore under the hood. The game has also seen plenty of support with plenty of crossover downloadable content, including crossovers with franchises like SpongeBob SquarePants, Final Fantasy, and the recently released Wallace & Gromit DLC pack.
To that end, it’s somewhat surprising to see FuturLab announce a sequel, given that PowerWash Simulator already has a strong foundation and has been supported with so much extra content over the last few years. Even so, given its massive popularity – to the tune of over 17 million players – FuturLab is clearly taking this opportunity to grow the game into a more proper franchise. It seems this new game will also be bringing with it some new features to freshen up the experience from the first game.
PowerWash Simulator 2 Offers Many New Surprises
PowerWash Simulator 2’s Debut Trailer Adds A Lot To A Little
PowerWash Simulator 2 was announced with a brand-new trailer, alongside the news that FuturLab will now self-publish the game without the help of Square Enix Collective. The trailer is only 38 seconds, meaning that it doesn’t offer up too much for the game’s excited fans. Even still, the franchise still managed to showcase its share of gameplay, offer plenty of shenanigans featuring the franchise’s signature gnomes, and confirm an impending 2025 release window.
The trailer begins with PowerWash Simulator’s mascot gnomes hopping repeatedly on a large red button to reveal the logo for the upcoming game. The trailer then cuts into some small snippets of gameplay showcasing some of the new title’s locations before concluding with the gnomes hiding in boxes while a shadowy figure enters the room, indicating that the sequel intends to offer more story and expand on the first game’s surprisingly detailed lore.
PowerWash Simulator 2 Adds Home Base, New Soap Mechanics
So far, FuturLab has only confirmed a few new features and concepts for the game, but the developer has confirmed that PowerWash Simulator 2 will feature 38 different levels this time around. This is the same number of levels as the first PowerWash Simulator game, which featured 18 vehicles and 20 proper locations to clean. PowerWash Simulator 2 will also feature a new home base for players to unwind at, a move not too dissimilar to what a game like House Flipper offers.
Alongside the announcements of features such as a stronger story focus and improved visual effects, FuturLab has also indicated that the new game will feature some major changes to the previous game’s soap mechanics. The developer notes that the new game will allow players to apply soap to help soften dirt regardless of how stubborn it appears. Players will then be able to easily remove the dirt with any nozzle they choose, making the surfaces sparkle even brighter.

Fans Can Finally Enjoy PowerWash Simulator 2 In Local Multiplayer
One of the most notable changes PowerWash Simulator 2 will be offering is a brand-new split-screen co-op mode. While PowerWash Simulator previously offered a multiplayer option, it was only playable online and offered no crossplay option. Now, though, players can enjoy couch co-op gameplay in PowerWash Simulator 2, and players who enjoy the online portion of the game will get to share their campaign progression with those they play with.
Given that PowerWash Simulator 2 has only just been announced, there is still plenty of time to learn about what this new game will offer to players. Still, as surprising as a PowerWash Simulator sequel is, FuturLab is offering some exciting new content that should make this follow-up worth the wash. Here’s hoping FuturLab can deliver on expectations and make PowerWash Simulator 2 a worthwhile sequel to its breakout hit.
