FromSoftware’s difficulty continues skyrocketing, but so do the scores, as it is the company’s best-rated game yet. Both veterans and newcomers to the genre are sure to enjoy each grueling minute to survive in the Lands Between.
The only FromSoftware game I liked was Enchanted Arms, and despite the “near-universal” acclaim, I still have no intention to purchase or play it, given my lackluster experience with whatever Soulsborne games I’ve played.
I got this game for myself as a Christmas gift and I love the game. It is a hard game and took awhile to get used to how the battles work, but it is a fun and engaging game all the same.
For me, video game quality, good or bad, is a point of view and never fact. I trust neither mainstream critics nor audiences, only my instincts and experiences. I see mainstream video game journalism to be incredibly corrupt as well just like political journalism, though I understand all is a matter of journalists being fallible, opinionated humans.
