Marvel Rivals will offer a free new Emma Frost skin through the Hellfire Gala Star Vote event, but it will not be available until next year.

Marvel Rivals is handing out a new Emma Frost skin, but players will have to wait a long time to claim it. This fast-growing team-based shooter gives fans control of popular Marvel characters – from well-known heroes and villains to some of the more unexpected names in the universe. One of the biggest draws of Marvel Rivals is its range of unlockable cosmetics, which let players customize their favorite characters to better fit their preferences.
Season 2, titled Hellfire Gala, kicked off back in early April. On May 2, a limited-time event called the Hellfire Gala Star Vote went live in Marvel Rivals, allowing players to vote on which character should receive an all-new Gala skin. Players could collect Voting Tokens by completing event missions and then use those tokens to support one of eight options: Emma Frost, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Cloak & Dagger, Wolverine, Black Widow, Bruce Banner, or Captain America. The skin will be free, but it won’t be available until next year, which has disappointed a portion of the community.
That delay is frustrating to some, but it matches the way the Hellfire Gala is typically handled in the comics. On May 31, the official Marvel Rivals Twitter account revealed the winner of the Star Vote: Emma Frost. She secured the top spot with overwhelming support thanks to her iconic elegance, commanding attitude, and signature diamond-hard presence. The announcement made it clear that her new Hellfire Gala skin will be available to all players at no cost during next year’s Marvel Rivals Gala event.
Marvel Rivals Fans Split on Emma Frost Win
Fan reactions were mixed. A number of players were excited about Emma Frost’s win and happy that a free skin was coming their way, even if it meant waiting a while. Others were less impressed, saying Cloak & Dagger would have been a more exciting pick. There were also comments suggesting that Marvel Rivals‘ Emma won mostly because her current default skin is unpopular. It is worth noting that many players have criticized her existing Golden Diamond outfit, saying the color choices do not work well and that the overall design feels flat.
Hopefully, the new Emma Frost skin will be worth the wait. As the game continues to grow and evolve, recent Marvel Rivals leaks have stirred up even more excitement by hinting at future playable characters like Blade, Phoenix, Professor X, and others. There’s also buzz about a new tank hero potentially joining the lineup, with Armor or Colossus being the most likely candidates.
