Battlefield Labs datamine reveals leaked details of a potential battle royale mode for the next Battlefield game.

New details have been leaked about the battle royale mode that’s rumored to be a part of the next Battlefield game. After winding down seasonal support for Battlefield 2042 last year, 2025 has seen EA and DICE begin to roll out its “Battlefield Labs” playtesting program for the upcoming Battlefield game, confirmed to be eyeing a release at some point within the next 10 months.
Battlefield Labs has been the source of much buzz among fans of EA’s large-scale multiplayer shooter franchise lately. As select players and influencers have been chosen by EA to take part in the playtest program, a myriad of information about the upcoming Battlefield game and even some leaked footage has come out. Some of this leaked footage showed off the game’s modern setting and intense destructible environments, indicating just how different the game will likely end up being from Battlefield 2042. A wave of leaks and rumors has also come out about a potential battle royale game mode, though EA and DICE have yet to officially comment.
Perhaps the biggest info leak about the next Battlefield‘s rumored battle royale mode has popped up on Reddit. A user named temporyal posted a very long list of details that was reportedly data mined from Battlefield Labs. According to the list, the Battlefield battle royale will share a lot of similarities with Activision’s uber-successful Call of Duty: Warzone, like missions that dole out rewards and supply drops that let players access custom loadouts. The battle royale will also feature what’s called the “Oversight System,” which allows dead players to take control of drones, turrets, and even cameras to help their surviving squad mates. This is one of the main features on the list that could help set it apart from Warzone‘s Gulag.
New Battlefield Battle Royale Details Have Leaked
Vehicles have always been a core part of Battlefield‘s identity, and temporyal’s post details how they’ll supposedly work in the new battle royale. Players will be able to find vehicle keycards in the world to use at vehicle container locations dotted around the map. It’s here where they’ll need to defend the vehicle as it deploys. It’s yet another way that can do wonders to set it apart from Call of Duty: Warzone. Some fans under the post still wonder whether Battlefield‘s battle royale mode will end up being a standalone game and, if so, whether it’ll be free-to-play like Call of Duty: Warzone.
With the game officially expected to release sometime before March 2026, there should be concrete info about the next Battlefield coming out at some point soon. It’s easy to see EA showing up to Geoff Keighley’s imminent Summer Game Fest or Xbox’s June 8 showcase with a big Battlefield reveal, or perhaps EA may hold its own Battlefield blowout event later in the summer. Either way, Battlefield fans should expect to learn more about this new installment and whether its battle royale mode is real sometime over the coming months.
