WARNING:
MAJOR SPOILERS For Upcoming Space Marine 2 Content
Recent datamines of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 may have revealed some of the new content coming in the highly anticipated Patch 8, which seems to feature the Techmarine as the new class. The Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Patch 8, which includes the long-awaited Horde Mode, is expected to be released in early to mid-June. While players await an official announcement, dataminers have unearthed some exciting upcoming content.
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 has received plenty of updates since its initial release in 2024, with Saber Interactive introducing a wealth of new content to keep the title fresh for fans. The game offers a brutal third-person shooter experience true to the Warhammer 40k universe, where players face off against huge waves of enemies, featuring impressive visuals and engaging combat mechanics. The game was a smash hit, reaching 4.5 million players a month after launch, and its popularity endures. Saber Interactive has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering consistent content updates, despite the fact that the studio has also begun development on Space Marine 3. Saber is currently working to deliver Patch 8—a major update that will add plenty of new content—though dataminers have uncovered some details ahead of its official release.
According to findings shared by a leaker known as luthien13, the Techmarine seems to be the new Space Marine 2 class coming in Patch 8. This assumption stems from a perk called “shoulder gun bolter” mentioned in the files. A Techmarine is a special kind of Space Marine who’s both a strong fighter and a skilled mechanic—they’re basically warrior-engineers—responsible for maintaining and repairing weapons, armor, and vehicles, while operating complex machinery like Dreadnoughts, Rhinos, and Land Raiders.
Space Marine 2 Datamine May Reveal New Class and Weapons Coming in Patch 8
Additionally, dataminers have suggested that a Power Axe and a Grav-cannon will be included in Space Marine 2 Patch 8’s new content. It’s worth noting that none of this is official, and Saber Interactive has yet to reveal the full content of the patch. For now, players have been told by the developer that the new update will feature the highly awaited Horde Mode, which will support up to three players as they battle waves of both Tyranids and Chaos enemies, with difficulty increasing as they progress.
It remains to be seen whether the leaks turn out to be accurate, though Saber had previously stated that not even dataminers would be able to uncover details about Space Marine 2’s upcoming content. In the meantime, players will have to wait a little longer to see an official reveal of Patch 8.
