Pokemon TCG Live is giving away a free Lillie’s Clefairy EX.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Live is currently giving away Lillie’s Clefairy EX, one of the latest cards to make their way to both the physical and digital editions of the popular TCG. Pokemon TCG Live players have until late May 2025 to take advantage of this offer.

While the recently released Pokemon TCG Pocket is monetized fairly aggressively, the full-fledged digital version of the hit trading card game never was. Instead, Pokemon TCG Live is primarily designed for players to experiment with cards, and as such, it gives them away quite generously, in addition to awarding booster packs for every physical booster purchase.

In the latest testament to this trend, Pokemon TCG Live started giving away Lillie’s Clefairy EX in late March 2025. The timing of the giveaway coincides with the launch of the Pokemon TCG Journey Together set, which hit the market on March 28. Lillie’s Clefairy EX is part of this expansion, identified by collector number 173/159. The fact that its number goes beyond the official set size makes this a so-called Secret Rare card.

As for the offer itself, it’s as straightforward as they come; all that’s required to grab a free Lillie’s Clefairy EX is to redeem the promo code “JOURNEYTOGETHER25,” either via the official Pokemon website or the mobile trading card game itself. The latter option requires opening the in-game shop, then selecting the Redeem option. While the game will then ask the user to choose between scanning a QR code or entering one manually, only the second option will work for this promo, since The Pokemon Company didn’t share any QR codes this time around.

Lillie’s Clefairy EX Is a Potentially Devastating Pokemon TCG Opener

Regarding the free card itself, Lillie’s Clefairy EX is a powerful Pokemon TCG card that boasts decent versatility. That said, its Fairy Zone ability makes it a tech choice against a Dragon-dominated meta, as it changes the weakness of all of opponent’s Dragon-type Pokemon to Psychic. Conveniently, Lillie’s Clefairy EX does Psychic damage, solely via its two-Energy Full Moon Rondo. The move dishes out 20 damage, plus 20 more for each benched Pokemon in play, including both the player’s and opponent’s, up to a maximum of 220. The mon is also decently sticky, thanks to its 190 HP.

As a result, Lillie’s Clefairy EX can serve as an absolutely devastating opener, and sit at the heart of some extremely powerful Pokemon TCG Psychic-type decks. The physical version of the card is in above-average demand right now, with singles regularly switching hands for approximately $15 on eBay, depending on the country.
