A GameStop listing suggests Crimson Desert may come to the Nintendo Switch 2, expanding its player base.

Nintendo Switch 2 owners may get the opportunity to play Crimson Desert, the upcoming open-world fantasy action-adventure game from Pearl Abyss, on the new console. There has been no official announcement about Crimson Desert being available for the Switch 2, but an online listing from retailer GameStop suggests that news may be breaking before too long.
Established in 2010, South Korea-based publisher and developer Pearl Abyss has mostly been known for its 2014 fantasy MMORPG Black Desert Online, with Crimson Desert originally planned as a sequel to that game. Pearl Abyss has just two other games to its credit — 2022 mobile-only adventure RPG Black Clover M: Rise of the Wizard King and the 2018 mobile version of Black Desert Online — and fans have been excited to see what Crimson Desert will hold since its announcement at The Game Awards 2020.
Officially, Crimson Desert‘s release window is set for late 2025 with no solid release date yet, and it is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, one more platform may be hosting the game, as the official GameStop website now lists Crimson Desert as “Coming Soon” under a search of upcoming titles for the Nintendo Switch 2. A check of Crimson Desert‘s official website and social media profiles shows no mention of Switch 2 availability, with the home page clearly displaying the logos of PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, so it’s unclear whether this listing is a factual error on GameStop’s part or a case of information being released too soon.
Crimson Desert May be Available on Nintendo Switch 2
The possibility of a Switch 2 release would allow the game to reach a lot more players, but the news is especially surprising considering a report from October that Crimson Desert could have been a PlayStation 5 exclusive. According to that report, Sony offered Pearl Abyss an exclusivity deal for the release of the action-adventure game, which Pearl Abyss declined.

While many fans have been excited to experience Crimson Desert‘s open-world gameplay since its reveal in the summer of 2023, some seem skeptical of how it would perform on Switch 2. The Switch 2 has been heralded as possessing 10 times the graphical performance of the original Switch, including hardware features like 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. However, it is still expected to lag behind both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in some performance categories, such as only supporting a third of the TFlops of the Series X and less than half the GPU clock speed of the PS5.
