The latest PS Plus update has added six new games across the Extra and Premium tiers.
A new update has been issued for the PlayStation Plus subscription service that gives subscribers six new games to play across the Extra and Premium tiers. April 2025 has already been abnormally busy for PlayStation Plus. Not only were subscribers treated to the monthly free games at the start of the month, but they have also been given access to two PS Plus Extra games earlier than usual.
Generally speaking, PS Plus Extra and Premium updates happen on the same day, but April 2025 has been an exception to the rule. PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers were treated to Blue Prince and EA Sports PGA Tour on April 10, a full five days ahead of the month’s proper PS Plus update. Blue Prince is a critically-acclaimed puzzle game with roguelike elements that is currently one of the highest-rated new game releases of the year, while EA Sports PGA Tour is a big-budget golf game. Now the latest PS Plus update has added another six games to the mix, with four available through PS Plus Extra and two exclusive to the Premium tier.
The new PS Plus Extra and Premium update has added Battlefield 1, Hogwarts Legacy, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2, and PlateUp to the Extra tier, while Alone in the Dark 2 and War of the Monsters have been added to the Premium tier. PS Plus Extra subscribers can’t play the Premium-only games, but Premium subscribers can play everything added to Extra. That’s because Premium is the ultimate tier of PS Plus and comes with absolutely everything that the service has to offer.

Clearly, PS Plus Premium subscribers have been getting serious bang for their buck in April 2025. The latest update has added a fresh batch of Extra and Premium-specific games, but subscribers were also able to check out the monthly free games as well. Until May 5, Premium, Extra, and Essential subscribers can all claim the free PS Plus games for April 2025, which consist of RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory.
While there are plenty of new games for PS Plus subscribers to check out in April 2025, some titles have also been removed from the service. The PS Plus Extra departures definitely sting, especially with games like Animal Well and Slay the Spire on their way out, but at least there are plenty of new titles to play in their absence.
