A content roadmap for Splitgate 2 reveals big plans for the game in the months ahead.

Developer 1047 Games has revealed the content roadmap for Splitgate 2, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the game. While Splitgate 2 does not fully launch until this summer, this roadmap shows what is coming at the start of the open beta and beyond.
Fortunately, fans do not have to wait long to experience the open beta, as it starts on May 22. Leading up to its release, 1047 Games has given fans multiple looks at the game, including closed playtests. While the game takes elements from the original Splitgate, such as the iconic portal mechanic, the development team looked to evolve the first-person shooter in a sequel. Among the changes, Splitgate 2 features three factions: Aeros, Meridian, and Sabrask. These factions give players different weapons and abilities, allowing them to select a loadout best suited for their play style.
As fans anticipate the open beta launch, 1047 Games has unveiled a roadmap, showing what is coming to the game on May 22 and in the following months. Specifically, the developer revealed that the Splitgate 2 open beta will launch with nine new maps and three new modes. In addition, The Lab will launch alongside the beta, providing players with a map creator for making custom content. Inspired by Halo’s Forge mode, the creative mode could add longevity to the game by allowing fans to introduce their original designs for the community to check out. The beta will also include a battle pass, a new power weapon, and weekly playlists based on the community’s preferences.
